Chief Visionary Officer and New Acquisitions
Landon Ogilvie has over 15 years experience in risk management focused on insurance, transportation and energy service companies. In the early years, he created new insurance products and financed premiums for energy service companies from 2003 to 2009. Landon was named partner in a 100 year old privately held insurance company called Gans&Smith Insurance in East Texas. In 2009, Landon was named Young Agent of the year for the state of Texas and served on the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas board of directors.
Leaning on his insurance industry experience, Landon turned his focus to energy services in 2009. He has over ten years experience owning and operating energy service companies with a heavy focus on Surface Rentals, Trucking, and Disposal Facilities. During this time, Landon was a preferred vendor with the top five major oil and gas companies, managed rolling stock of over 100 units, and a rental inventory of over $10 million.
He also has several small multi-family rental property investments. As his Mimi always told him, she had never met a person who could save a nickel, so you might as well steal from yourself. She said, “Buy land and buy equipment with all of your extra cash and you will always have savings.”
Landon has moved from hands-on operations to a visionary leader for the family companies. In 2015, the idea to create Ogilvie Family Companies was born and became the umbrella for future acquisitions. In 2017, the family finalized the purchases of Alpine Express, Telluride Express and American Spirit Shuttle, all located in the Western Slope of Colorado.
Never one to separate play and work, Landon enjoys working side by side with his wife, Jennifer and bringing his three daughters Madeline, Nanette and Laurel along to board meetings. The family hikes together in the summers, and snow skis together in the winters. The family mantra of dream big, live wide and love deep is alive and well in the Rocky Mountains.
